JACK Mullet Madness has been HACKED!

mulletmadness hacked r1 JACK Mullet Madness has been HACKED!

JACK Mullet Madness has been hacked! WTF?!? Really, this would be the ultimate punk, but unfortunately, we’re not messing around. An outside source has compromised the brackets and the voting process.

The JACK legal eagles have met, and determined the best course of action is to conduct a random drawing for the gently used 2008 Ford Mustang, with the original 64  Mullet Madness contestants. Hey, no one can ruin all our fun, so we’re throwing a JACK Madness party Saturday, April 3 at Hooters at South Park for all contestants and you! The party starts at 5pm, and we’ll find out which mullet head wins the 2008 Ford Mustang during the drawing at 6:45pm. Plus, not only can you also watch the championship games, we’re giving away prizes every 10 minutes !

Hooters at South Park is located at 9635 Des Moines Memorial Drive – see you at the party!

  • Henne

I think you should randomly draw from the final four contestants… all had great mullets and earned the right to at least be in the runnings for the stang.

  • Kelli

This is a gimick to promote business for Hooters! We worked hard, voted everyday from all of our computers!

  • Amelia

I agree with Kelli and Henne, not cool on Jack FM’s part.

  • Joe

What a dissappointment! The fair way to treat the contestants is to take the two who had the most votes at the time the hacking took place and let the people vote who attend the party. I can’t help but question the validity of this competition and if Jack-Seattle and Hooters had something up their sleeve. What a disappointment to the competitors and the people who rallied behind them.

  • Amanda

I would have to say that this is most definitely an april fools joke! and if it’s not then Jack is really gonna be on the naughty list :(

  • Rose

I disagree with Henne, There were others with Great mullets – TRUE mullets that were elimated earlier than the final 4 that deserve to be included. I think the person who benefited from the outside sorce should be eliminated from the 64 contestants.

  • Bart

That seems the only fair thing to do. Did anyone else notice that guitar boy lost in the Sweet Sixteen round to the long haired guy with the tattoo. Around noon the next day, guitar boy replaced tattoo guy in the Eilte 8 round. Guitar boy then lost in the Elite 8 round only to have his picture re-surface around 11am the next day and replace the guy that he lost to. Something was definitely wrong!

    • Ryan

I know the guitar boy and he was just as confused as everyone else was about losing and then ending up winning.

  • Rose

Don’t blame the station it’s not their fault that some people choose to ruin everything for others. Blame the people who did the hacking. Also when did the hacking really begin? It may have been started in round 1 for all we know. I know we all worked hard on getting our friends and family to vote, but it is what it is. The station is doing the only fair thing they can.

  • Manuel

I wish you could exclude the person/party associated with with the hacking. Guitar boy seemed to lose then, re-appear again, and again. He’s a likely suspect. But unless their’s prooof….
I guess random drawing is the best option. Wish you could exclude the guilty one, though. That person should have ZERO chance of winning.
Also, whatever company hosted the contest has some serious explaining to do.
JACK, please provide some details to this. We feel really cheated.

  • Alex Smith

I believe the top 4 contestants should be in the drawing, not all 64.
This is extremely unfair to the people who spent time and effort to help certain contestants win. This is only punishing the honest people and giving the cheaters what they want in a way. This should be re-evaluated.

  • Amanda

really?! this is complete B.S.!!! I am so irritated. We had thousands of people voting . . . for nothing?! cause some dumbass with the guitar and dumb haircut that really isn’t much of a mullet wants to cheat!!! I hope he shows up to hooters cause he will be getting a piece of my mind. I blame him and the damn radio station. for one they should have enough security to protect this and two, seems like this has been happeneing for at least a couple rounds now and so why was this not caught earlier instead of right at the last minute? IF this doesn’t get fixed i will be running my mouth to everyone i know about them. And I got a fast mouth.

  • Rose

Gutair boy isn’t the only problem I noticed. In the Sweet 16 one guys percents jumped between 7-13% with a 1/2 hour time for one contestant and did it again in the elite. They should take the top 16 not just the top 4. Those who had people emimated worked just as hard at getting people to vote as those who were lucky enough not to be effected by the hack.

  • Nick

Guitar boy is a college kid with great networking and was just successful in getting the word out to friends and others on campus to have them go online and vote. The mullet contest was not hacked in any way by Guitar guy. I helped in voting and I know him personally. We are dumb hicks from Montana who don’t know how to “hack” a computer or voting system. When you post a status update on FaceBook or Twitter, with 1000+ friends and followers, those people listen and vote if you ask them to. Don’t hate because we have a better posse and get the word out and get votes. My buddy won this contest fair and square and the final two should be as they were at the end of the last round. nothing was hacked at all.

    • Bart

How did Guitar Boy lose two rounds at midnight yet show up at noon the next day as the winner? This happened in the Sweet Sixteen round AND the Elite 8 round. He literally replaced two other people that were shown as winners. The common link in both instances? Guitar Boy. Sounds like a hack job to me.

  • Amanda

sorry but you’re buddy barely even has a mullet! lol it’s a baby one. kind of like waiting to become a man :/

    • jason

How do you people even know who cheated or didn’t. I think JackSeattle is just to cheap to give away the mustang so they made up this story about someone hacking. I would like to know exactly were the hack came from and what they consider hacking.

      • Kelli

the station has the Mustang and will give it away at the Finals party

    • Dave

I’m the dude with the long hair and tattoo. I was definitely in the elite eight on Friday morning only to not be there in the afternoon, how the heck does that happen after voting ended. I had friends all over the country and world voting for me. After I was bumped I got pissed and cut my mullet off and donated it to Locks of Love. At least some little kid will have some hair that needs it.

      • e

i’m the guy that made it to final four in my bracket, i was expecting to compete against you! its a shame that good honest networking amongst friends family and co-workers could not produce a final winner in this contest!

  • Deborah

Guitar Boy had a HUGE national network that voted diligently. From coast to coast votes were cast mainly on college campuses and the station’s computer system could not keep up with the demand OR maybe there is an ouside Hacker that is foolling everyone. I voted for Guitar Boy and campaigned for him all week! Friends and I noticed that something very strange happened with the voting at the conclusion of Elite 8. It’s too bad that the people keeping track of the vote weren’t up to the job or couldn’t have discovered a problem earlier than the final round. If there was some hacking it was not Guitar Boy.

    • e

a “Huge” network is great! but how does guitar boy win and advance to the finals with 6 hours left in the final four round.

      • Deborah

Ask Jack’s. They tallied the votes. When is the best time to vote?

  • Straight Shooter

This is very disappointing. Guitar Boy’s entry should definitely be nullified (Nick, your excuse doesn’t hold water – your Montana connection may be hicks, but apparent cheats nonetheless). He clearly lost in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8, yet showed up winning around noon the next day.

I’m sorry about your loss Dave – yet commend you on your donation.

A random drawing of the original 64 isn’t a good idea. It’s not fair to those who won their contests. Jack has a mess on their hands. If there’s going to be a drawing, it should be the original Final Four and Dave.

  • e

Who’s to blame…Guitar Boy? How does Guitar Boy replace contestants from there ranked positions in the Sweet 16, Elite 8 and Final 4 and then move into the Final 2 with 6 hrs still remaining in the Final 4 Round. How does that happen…Replacing contestants after the close of voting doesn’t happen through Networking.

    • OTTO

Bass Brats continuous advancement after the 16 and the elite 8 are B.S. and has nothing to do with networking. I agree with you e.

      • OTTO

Networking is how the Bass Brat was defeated, and hacking is how he advanced multiple times.

  • J L

This is total crap! Me and my friends had a great time voting for all the contestants. It’s unfortunate that there is always some Dumb a** that just has to ruin it for everyone. This could have been a great event.

  • e

Extend the contest. Let “Mullet Madness” continue as it was intended, and not as a “drawing.” find the culprit!

  • Nikki

Yeah this is all a HOT MESS! The other people earned their way into the Finals fair and square and now Jack thinks a random draw from all 64 is a fair way to handle this? NOT AT ALL! The person with the best Mullet is the one who deserves to win! This better be April Fools… i’m just sayin!

  • Guitar Man

This is “guitar boy” and I’m telling you that I, in no way, shape, or form posses the ability or resources to hack into a computer. I can’t help it if the organizers can’t keep track of votes. I saw many large fluctuations every day in the vote percentages. I think that the system they used to count and tally the votes was inadequate for the task. I entered this contest fair and square and believe that as of now I should have a 50% chance of winning the car.

    • Straight Shooter

Wow, do I ever disagree with you here, bud. As far as I’m concerned, you’re shouldn’t have any chance to win.

If you’re legit, I feel for you – your hopes were raised only after you were defeated in two consecutive rounds, only to replace the winners after the next rounds had started. That smells all the way from Montana to the Pacific coast.

  • Michelle

I’m a friend of Dave who did win the round in the Sweet 16 and made it to Elite 8, I know because I voted for him while he was in the Elite 8 round. Something for sure went wrong, my sister is one of the people who wrote to the studio to see what was going on because we all worked really hard to get Dave in there, he’s a great guy had a great mullet and won fare and square. The drawing probably isn’t the best way to do this but I guess it’s as fare as it’s going to get. I agree it should be the top 16 rather then 64. That way some people are eliminated and the people who got votes have a fare chance.

  • Albert

Ok, if this is an April Fools Joke, than i tip my hat to you, Well played sir. If not however, this is complete crap. How do you figure that a random drawing among the original 64 is a fair way of solving this issue. I say beef up your security and have a vote up until the time of the award no rounds, just a vote of as many mullets you want and “may the best mullet win”. As for the a**holes that hacked the contest, shouldnt you be using your “Skill” for something better than rigging a mullet contest that wins a 2008 mustang. Get a friggin life ya Douchebag!! Jack FM please make this right, My friends and I really dont want to boycott you and hooters and any other sponsors involved. Because as me may not have the money you all have we do have the voice of the people as apparent from all the people who legally voted for their favorite MULLET!!

  • gary

this computer crap is just that. just play cool tunes and knock off all this other stupid crap off. It always ends up the same lame a** way. The dude is the blue shirt should of been the clear cut winner. leave it up to seattle to screw something eles up again

  • Kelli

I talked to the station’s Marketing Manager. She said that the CBS legal team knows who did this and they will be taking legal action once all their duck are in a row. I know that it was in the lower bracket that the cheating happened and that it started in the Sweet Sixteen round. The station does have the Mustang and will award the prize at the Finals Party. And the reason they chose to do that is because they wanted people to know they did have the prize. I guess the original plan was to have the drawing between the final 4 and the other 2 that were affected (not the cheater) but CBS legal told her she has to start everyone equal. I hope she can convince them otherwise.

  • ADC

It’s unfortunate that someone’s friends or fans chose to cheat instead of watching this unfold the real way. I have a friend that was in the top 2 and he was lucky enough to have friends, Facebook, texts and an entire bar behind him. We asked for help and got it. He lives and breathes the mullet and did this contest because it is just plain HIM. Shame on the hackers for ruining his chances! Use your computer skills for something useful, like solving the economic crisis!

    • m

What a mess!!! A random drawing of all 64 contestants is not a very well thought out plan to make it up to the contests that made it as far as they did. It sounds like a easy way to end this convoluted contest. The finalists deserve some decent outcome
to a contest that was suppose to be fun for contestants and their fans. ” MAKE IT RIGHT”

      • Nikki

Def agree!!! One of the people behind this could be doing something to make it right.. make it FAIR for the people who DID NOT cheat! It all sounded to good to be true anyway!

  • m

    Let’s here more comments!!!!

  • skullet sister

I think that there should be a random drawing of real mullets, not folks in wigs. ADC- I have been wondering about your friend in the final two. He was great competition for my sister with the skullet (who he eliminate in the sweet 16). What does he do? I live in Ohio, and have no way to meet him- there is tons of conjecture in our network- and we are intrigued to find out more about him.

  • Taylor

I agree. There should be a random drawing from the final 4. Its unfair to revert back to the original 64. Why even have the entire bracket to begin with if you were just going to pull the rug out at the end and throw everyone back into “the dance”?

  • Jill

After the winner is announced tonight, can someone post who it is? I can’t make the party. Thanks.

  • kurt

how long will it take for this comment to go away

  • kurt

    Who “won”?

    • Kelli

      Mark someone.

  • j

First of all if this Guitar boy has the ability to hack the Jacks website, I’m sure he would of been a lot smarter than loosing then re-appearing why do that when you could just type in a few codes and have every vote/ every other vote go to his name. So maybe the hacker thought to exploit someone else to save their own ass and not draw attention to themselves!!!! I mean not all Americans are dumb!!!

  • K

I’m so confused about this whole thing. If this “Hacked” thing was legit then why aren’t we getting details about who and when things went wrong. This was something fun for all. Something that a lot of people could get behind and cheer someone on to a victory. Someone pulled the rug and just like everything else, we are just supposed to take it. I think someone should “Get Jessie” or something.

  • Colton

I am a friend of the kid with the guitar…. He had no idea how he could have hacked through the voting. He just voted at every computer that he could. he is apart of a university and used other computers within the university to vote. Obviously the votes didnt go through until that time the next day Jack should re draw for the final four or even the final two they are the ones who earned it the most.

  • Pete

I will never listen to JACK(ed) FM again. Your system was flawed and now you have to try and pin it on someone. Pick the youngest guy! That’s BS! He just networked like hell and made it happen. I was rootin’ for him and probably had over 500 friends and family of my own voting for him. Not to mention al of them who did the same. Completely Jacked and I’ll never listen to 96.5 again and I will definitely pass this along to everyone I know.
